Kuvaninga Gas Fired Power Plant

MCL has broken ground on a 50 Megawatt Power Plant that will employ a GE Turbine Engine Solution in Chokwe, Maputo Province. The privately owned project has attracted investment from firms like Investec out of South Africa and Venture Partners out of the U.S.
MCL is undertaking the earthworks and civil works for the main power plant and the works for the electrical switch-yards.

U.S. Embassy Maputo Warehouse

MCL was awarded a turnkey EPC contract for a new consolidated warehouse for the U.S. Embassy Maputo’s mission. The land acquisition has been completed and MCL is now in the design/review phase of the project working with the USDS Overseas Building Office. The new consolidated warehouse will store materials for the Embassy, USAID, CDC and Peace Corp.

Gigawatt Power Plant

MCL has just been awarded the civil works for the 100 Megawatt “Gigawatt” Power Plant that is located immediately adjacent to the CTRG plant in Ressano Garcia. The EPC on the project is WBHO/Parsons Brinkerhoff and the Engineering Company for the powerhouse that MCL will be working under is TSK Energia y Plantas out of Spain.

Construction Progressing on Mozambique National Data Center

MCL was awarded an EPC Contract for the design and construction of a two-story 2,500m2 building that will house Mozambique National Data Center. Working with technology designer/implementer EOH of South Africa MCL completed the design phase of the project in the 4Q 2013 and construction is now at the midway point of the project.

Electrical Design Upgrade for Halliburton’s Pemba Base

MCL’s engineering department undertook and completed the redesign of the electrical reticulation of Halliburton’s Pemba Shore Base. The redesign brought the Shore Base specifications in compliance with the internationally recognized Code BSI 7671. This shore base supports the important off-shore exploration of the Rovuma Basin.

CTRG 175MW Gas Fired Power Plant

MCL nearly completion of all earthworks, civil works and building works of a 175 MW gas fired power plant located in the Maputo Province near the South African border. The project is for South African petro-chemical company SASOL and the Mozambique power utility EDM. MCL will be working under EPC Warsila, Finland.

In addition to the main power plant MCL has been awarded corresponding works including the main gas feed pipeline, 2 electrical switchyards and over-head high voltage lines.

SASOL High Pressure Metering Station

MCL is nearing completion of SASOL’s HPCMS that will feed the CTRG and Gigawatt projects with their natural gas requirements.

Aerodrome on Vamizi Island Passes IACM Inspection

With MCL having completed the Aerodrome on Vamizi Island and all ancillary tasks related to runway security and demarcation the Mozambique Civil Aviation Authority (IACM) has inspected the Aerodrome and verified that all aspects meet their specifications and can now be re-opened permanently.
